Statement of Practice

In 2019, Ismah Ahmad joined Jacobson Markham as a 3L law clerk. She stayed on as a post-bar graduate clerk and received her license in 2020. Ismah’s practice focuses on civil litigation defense in personal injury, public entity employment, and product liability. In addition to serving her clients, as a child of first-generation immigrants, Ismah constantly looks for ways to serve underrepresented communities.

In 2015, Ismah graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a Political Science and International Relations double-major and an English minor. Before joining law school, she worked as a case manager for a local criminal defense attorney.
Ismah graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2019 where she served on the UC Davis Law Review, the UC Davis Journal of International Law & Policy, the UC Davis Trial Practice Honors Board, and the UC Davis Moot Court Honors Board. She competed in both inter-school and intra-school competitions and gained trial-preparation and courtroom experience.

Ismah also participated in the King Hall First Generation Advocates Program and the Public Service Law Program. Additionally, during law school, she clerked at the California Attorney General’s office in the Appeals, Writs, and Trials Division, where she wrote appellate briefs and gained experience in appellate practice.
